Inyo County Writing Contest
Eligibility:
The Contest is open to EVERYONE.
Criteria:
Submitted articles must incorporate a strong element of Inyo County in some way. It can be entertaining, funny, emotional, or adventurous but must have occurred in Inyo County. We are looking for Inyo County adventures that someone headed to the area might enjoy reading and might say “Hmm, that’s interesting let’s try that.” Article must be between 700 and 1000 words. Must be typed, double spaced and submitted digitally as a PDF. The article must be publishable as is, without proofing or rewriting from the sponsors or judges. Please submit only one entry per person. The articles will be judged by two professional writers who will not know the names of the contestants (nor will the contestants know the judges names) the decision of the judges will be final.

Send to info@elizabethd77.sg-host.com by midnight February 15, 2016 (no late submittals will be accepted). The number of words should be at the top of your first page. Your name cannot be on the page or in the story at all. You’ll also need to include our Entry Form for your contact information and signature stating you accept and understand the rules of the contest. Winners will be announced around February 20, 2016. If, for some reason, the articles are not of high enough quality to be published the sponsor has the right to not select winners. All decisions of the judges are final.
All submitted articles may be used by the sponsor to promote Inyo County should they win or not. Name credit will always be given to the writer. Each article must contain solely the entrant’s original ideas and language. Your submission of the article and entry form is your guarantee that you are the sole author of the article. Entries that are not the original work of the entrant, are illegible or incomplete will not be accepted. Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.
