The Inyo County Amateur Photo Contest hosted by the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce

Agreement Form and Contest Rules and Regulations

The contest is open to amateurs only. A professional is defined as one whose primary source of income (50%) or more results from his/her photographic work.

Submissions, to be juried will be accepted from April 15, 2013 through June 23, 2013.

Each person can submit up to three photos in a jpg. format to be juried. If one of your photos is selected to be displayed, you must send a framed and ready to hang photo to Lone Pine Chamber, 120 So Main Street, Lone Pine CA 93545 along with the signed entry form and the entry fee of $20.00 and it must be sent either UPS or FEDEX or hand delivered. Do not send by US Post Office.

Send up to three photos in jpeg format to info@lonepinechamber.org.  If one of your photos is selected to be displayed you will be notified by July 3, 2013. There will be 48 photographs chosen to be displayed and judged for first, second and third place.

The $20 entry fee for each photograph to be displayed is payable by cash or check. Checks should be made out to the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce.

Selected photographs will be displayed between July 15, 2013 and November 30, 2013 and will be judged by a professional photographer. The results will be announced at the annual reception July 20, 2013

 
Each selected photo must have the contestants name, address, and phone number clearly printed directly on the back of submission. Contestants must submit a signed entry form.

Prizes will be as follows:

First prize $500
Second prize $200
Third prize $100

Minimum frame size 16”X 20” maximum frame size 20” X 24” outside dimensions and must be ready to hang. Picture can be any size.  Each entry must include a digital 300dpi file (jpeg, tif, etc.)

Only original photos taken by the artist in Inyo County will be accepted. Photographs must be suitable to a family environment.

Photos where another piece of artwork is the main focus of the photo will not be accepted.

All images must be submitted by the original contestant. By submitting an image, the contestant represents and warrants that:
a. The contestant is the sole and exclusive owner of the image and has the right to license such image as provided herein.
b. To the best of the contestant’s knowledge the image does not infringe any copyright, trademark right, or right of privacy or publicity, and does not defame any third party.

It is the responsibility of the contestant to obtain written permission to release for public use any submitted photo from all persons in the photograph submitted. The photographer accepts all liability from the use of a photo where this release has not been obtained. The Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce is not responsible or liable for legal implications resulting in the publication of any submitted photo. The Chamber is not responsible for any damage or theft to any entry.

By entering the contest, you grant to the Lone Pine Chamber of Commerce a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, copy, and display the image without payment, royalties, or any other compensation. Further, by entering the contest, you grant to the Chamber the right to use and publish your name online, in print, and all other media for editorial, advertising, and promotional purposes in connection with the contest without payment or additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Also by entering the contest, you agree to release and hold harmless the Chamber from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, claim, action, demand, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or contest prize.

The Chamber of Commerce reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest. Also the Chamber can reject any entry without refund of fee.

At the contest’s end photos must be picked up at the Chamber by December 31, 2012. The Chamber retains the right to discard any submission not picked up by the set date.

All displayed photos will be available for sale for $150.00 with $100.00 going to the photographer unless they do not want to sell. Proceed of sales will be distributed at the end of the event. As pictures sell the photographer will be asked to replace the sold picture to keep display looking nice.
